What Depression Can Look Like
Everyone feels sad after loss, stress, conflict, or disappointment. Depression becomes a concern when low mood or loss of interest stays for many days, affects work or study, changes sleep or appetite, or makes a person feel hopeless. It may show as silence, irritability, body pain, tiredness, crying, anger, or withdrawal from family.

Common Warning Signs
- Feeling sad, empty, irritable, or hopeless most days
- Loss of interest in work, study, family, friends, or activities
- Low energy, tiredness, slow movement, or poor concentration
- Sleeping too little, sleeping too much, or waking early
- Appetite or weight changes
- Excessive guilt, low self-worth, or feeling like a burden
- Talking about death, self-harm, or “there is no point”
